Pack a picnic and invite your friends to Buckinghamshire's social event of the summer. The West Wycombe Music Festival features two open air picnic concerts in the glorious surroundings of the National Trust's West Wycombe Park, near High Wycombe. Friday 27th June is Tribute Night with a triple treat of Kylie, Robbie and Abba tribute bands. Saturday 28th June is Proms Night, starring the West End's hottest new act Teatro singing sonmgs from the shows. The concert, which also features the London Gala Orchestra, ends with a flag-waving 'last night of the Proms' flourish. Both concerts end with fantastic firework displays. Sonnets Theatre Arts Workshop was set up by David Phaure, who trained at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) where he was trained by Jeremy Young (The Bill, Doctor Who), Keith Martin (Radio Commentator), Gaye Browne (stage theatre and Only Fools and Horses) and Julian Glover (Indiana Jones, Bond, Star Wars). In the four years he focussed on drama based on Stanivslaski with plays from Chekhov, Ibsen, Shakespeare and Stoppard. Using Shakespeare as his inspiration for his drama school, “Sonnets”. Once qualified he worked in Greater London doing workshops including Romeo and Juliet to name a few. This is where David’s inspiration to teach as oppose to act became evermore powerful and where he set up Sonnets Workshop.
